The Center for Foot Surgery is a private clinic located in downtown Jerusalem.
We have our own X-ray system and our own operating room with licenses from the Ministry of Health of Israel. All operations are performed here and not in a hospital. We maintain our own professional staff including an experienced anesthesiologist to ensure that our patients are comfortable and safe. Our private operating room is never exposed to any infections which provides an environment which is clean and safe. We operate on all forefoot deformities on one or both feet at the same time and all of our patients walk immediately after surgery.

The director of the center is Richard Jaffe who is a doctor of podiatric medicine.
This requires education and training of 10 to 12 years in the U.S.  He practiced in Southern California (Laguna Beach & Santa Ana) for 13 years before moving to Israel and has over 30 years of experience performing foot surgery on thousands of patients.  Dr. Jaffe is “Board Certified” (American Board of Podiatric Surgery) and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. (This is the only surgical certification recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association.) 
After operating and teaching in a major hospital in Israel for 11 years he now practices only in his private clinic.  His practice focuses only on foot surgery and he has a special interest in performing second surgeries to repair earlier operations by other surgeons which were unsuccessful. Dr. Jaffe’s operations are not “quickie” procedures but are sophisticated, detailed and performed with accuracy and precision consistent with the standard of care of California.  Pain medication is usually not necessary after surgery.

The Center for Foot Surgery has no connection with any Kupat Cholim or private insurance companies.  After examination, detailed letters are provided to the patient to submit to the family physician and public and private health insurance companies.  Patients then know the extent of their financial responsibility before surgery is performed.
